I have a Dream

By Josalyn Genereux

I have a dream that one day all people will treat others the way they want to be treated. A world where we don’t have to be scared to go to school or go to the store, a world where we don’t always get judged. A place where we don’t hear about people committing suicide everyday from words. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. Bullying others doesn’t help you at all or in any way. Not only should you treat others nicely but treat yourself nicely. Make wise decisions, think before you speak. If you know someone is feeling sad cheer them up, say positive things to them, make them laugh. When you treat others badly most likely you will start to lose friends. Losing friends won’t you make you anymore happier either. I want all people to able to grow up and not have to worry about what people think of them, to have a stress free life. Where they don’t have to change their personality or what they do, for some person who only cares about how they feel and think. Waking up, knowing that you are going to be bullied isn’t very exciting. Some parents are even letting their kids get plastic surgery to prevent bullying. Kids that have allergies sometimes get bullied because of it, they touch you with the allergen or wave it in front of you. I have a dream that one day, women will be treated equally as men. Most kids in school that are bullied are girls, and kids with disabilities are also more likely to be judged. A lot of teens who are bullies usually become adult criminals. People don’t deserve to be bullied. Think about it, you would you want to bullied. It only makes things worse, and can ruin lives. Bullying isn’t always right in front of you, cyber bullying is another one. Cyber bullying is when someone is bullying someone on the internet. Cyber bullying is hard to deal with, it can be worse than being bullied face to face. Each year many people die from it, for example, in the 1999 Columbine massacre two “gifted students’’ were bullied for years. Then one day they decided to shoot people in their school, they killed 13 people, injured 24, and then killed themselves. So why bully, when you can make the world a better place. Think about it, does it really make you any better if you bully?
