The Barracudas are Diving Back into the Pool

March 8, 2017

Attention Parents: Are you looking for a summer activity for your child that improves physical and mental fitness, increases self-confidence, and provides a set of skills that will last a lifetime? Consider joining the Big Sandy Barracuda Swim Team. New members are always welcome and are a very important part of the team.

In 2016, the Barracudas, coached by Travis Baumann, was comprised of 32 swimmers, 28 of whom qualified for the State meet. Team growth is essential to achieve and maintain a competitive team, and this is something that the Barracudas have accomplished as swim team membership has grown.

Summer can be a busy time of the year for families and swim team allows for flexibility. Barracudas are not required to attend every swim meet and new members, based on swimming ability, may not be ready to compete until their skills improve.

Registration for the upcoming 2017 season, which begins June 1st, will be held on March 23rd at 5:00pm in the Big Sandy High School concession area. For additional information attend the registration meeting or contact Coach Baumann or Heather Pleninger, President.
