The Big sandy Pioneer volleyball team has had some great moments on the court this season and have won a few sets against quality teams.

Unfortunately they haven't been able to string those moments together enough to pick up that big win, but the girls clearly are playing hard and improving as the regular season winds down and tournament time approaches.

This past Thursday the girls were in Chinook to face the Sugarbeeters. Big Sandy played together and forced the 'Beeters to earn every point they got but it was Chinook that came out on top with a 3-0 sweep of the Pioneers, 25-19, 28-26, 25-21.

Friday the Pioneers faced the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks. This time the Pioneers fell 25-14, 25-12, 25-11.

Saturday the team honored its parents and said farewell to their seniors as they play in front of the home crowd for the last time.

Big Sandy dropped the first two sets 25-187 and 25-12 but bounced back in set number three to win it 25-17. The Miners would win set four to take the match 3-1.

Big Sandy will close out the regular season Friday at North Star and Saturday at Belt. The district 6C-East Tournament will be played in Chester on October 26-28 with the top three teams advancing to the Northern C Divisional.
