October 18, 2017

The 2017 Chouteau County Health Fair was recently held at three different sites and was sponsored and organized by the Big Sandy Medical Center, Missouri River Medical Center, Chouteau County Department of Public Health, Chouteau County Department of Emergency Services and Chouteau County MSU Extension. On October 10, 56 individuals had their blood drawn at Big Sandy. On October 11, 192 blood draws were taken in Fort Benton and on October 12, 54 people had their blood drawn in Geraldine.

In addition, many agencies and businesses were present with additional health-related resources. They included: flu shots by Big Sandy Medical Center, bone density scan, Benton Pharmacy, CPR and choking techniques provided by Memorial Ambulance, Montana Association of Counties (MACo), Montana Food Bank Network, Missouri River Medical Center (MRMC), MRMC Physical Therapy, MRMC Building Committee, Chouteau County MSU Extension, Chouteau County Department of Emergency Services and Chouteau County Department of Public Health.

If you had your blood drawn for a blood screening, please look for your results to arrive in approximately 14 business days in a large white envelope. Then, if you have any concerns about your results, it is important for you to contact your healthcare provider for their review. Your results will not be sent to your healthcare provider, you must do that yourself.

The planning committee sincerely appreciates the help of the many individuals who helped make the 2017 Chouteau County Health Fair a success. Thank you for supporting the efforts to provide the residents of Chouteau County information on raising awareness of prevention and management of their health.
