Thelma "Tim" Marie (Wright) Shamley

Thelma "Tim" Marie (Wright) Shamley, 96, passed away December 2, 2017 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Thelma was born to Frank and Anna (Stanley) Wright November 24, 1921 in Oswego, Montana. She had three siblings, Della Ruffatto, J. Stewart Wright, and Nathalia "Dixie" O'Brien.

She attended school at Prairie Elk School, and Frazer High School graduating in 1938. She then obtained a two year teaching certificate from Northern Montana College in Havre, MT. She taught school at Cow Creek, Circle, and Wolf Point.

Thelma was married to Harold E. "Doc" Shamley on September 3, 1945 in Wolf Point, Montana. They had four daughters: Ann, Jean, Diane, and Patricia. They lived in Prairie Elk, Choteau, and Big Sandy. After Doc's passing in 2001, Thelma lived in Billings, Poulsbo, Plentywood, and Bismarck.

Thelma is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Ann Shamley of Butte, Montana; Jean and George Snider of Bismarck, North Dakota; Diane and Dion Ligon of Poulsbo, Washington; Mike Mayott (Patty) of Billings; her grandchildren: Taber (Tiffany) Ligon, Todd (Jami) Taylor; Natalie (Tavis) Crandall; Amanda (Lee) Winterberg; Toby (Amby) Ligon; Eric (Dana) Taylor, Chelsey Ligon and great grandchildren: Tyler, Annalyse, Trenton, Bryce, Kamdyn, Elise, Kelby, Grant, Jackson, Riley, Wyatt, Carson, Eli, and Regan; nieces and nephews: Jay, Bruce, and Frank Wright, Jan Pratt, and Mike O'Brien.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Patty Taylor-Mayott, and her siblings.

Services will be held in the spring in Miles City, Montana and she will be buried with her husband at the Eastern Montana Veterans Cemetery.
