Lunches for the coming week are as follows:

Wednesday, October 4 chicken pot pie, salad and dessert.

Thursday, October 5 spaghetti and meat sauce, vegetables, salad, garlic toast and dessert.

Friday, October 6 potato soup, ham and cheese sandwiches with dessert.

Monday, October 9 hamburger macaroni soup, salad, dessert and buns for the Lunch of the Week!

Tuesday, October 10 turkey pot pie, salad and dessert.

This week how about a couple of golden oldie recipes from The Old Dry.

Chili Con Carne by Mrs. Dan (Rose) Cushman

Cook until tender one pound chili beans with salt, one large onion diced, a bit of garlic. If desired add a large can of tomatoes, one pound of hamburger fried, black and cayenne pepper and chili powder to taste. Allow to boil a few minutes.

Chop Suey by Mrs. Clarence (Lenore) Pursley

1 pound fresh meat cut into small pieces

2 cups bean sprout juice

4 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons flour

1 can bean sprouts

2 cups sliced onions

4 cups finely cut celery

2 Tablespoons lard

Fry meat in lard until well done. Add onions and fry two minutes. Add other ingredients and cook until vegetables are done. Thicken with a thin paste of flour and water. Serve hot with steamed rice.
