The Big Sandy Swim Team brought home a third place trophy from the Western Divisional Swim Meet in Choteau this weekend. The Barracudas scored 639 points to finish behind the swimmers from Bitterroot (1336.5) and Columbia Falls (670).

The Barracudas brought home three high point awards and set eleven new pool records. Jenna Leader tied for first in the 15-19 girls division with 40 points; Brady Pleninger won the 15-19 boys with 42 points and Cam Schwarzbach tied for first in the 13-14 boys division with 40 points. Several other swimmers placed in the high point category: Henry Merrill (9th), Jai Baumann (8th), Ryder Oats (10th), Daisy LaBuda (4th), Amiya Griffith (5th), Dillin Geyer (3rd), and Kade Strutz (2nd).

Pool records can be set during preliminary races on Saturday or during finals races on Sunday. Records were set by the 15-19 boys free relay & 15-19 boys medley relay, Dillin Geyer (200 IM, 100 fly & 50 fly), Jenna Leader (50 fly), Cam Schwarzbach (100 free & 200 free), Kody Strutz (100 breast) and Brady Pleninger (50 free, 100 back).

The state meet will be held August 4th & 5th in Conrad.
