The volleyball games last Thursday and Friday, October 24th and 25th, were lost to the CJI (Chester-Joplin-Inverness) Lady Hawks and The Boxelder Lady Bears, but not without a fight. The first game was lost 10-25, 16-25, and 21-25. The second game the Pioneers won the first two sets: 25-14, 25-22, however, lost the last three: 16-25, 14-25, 12-15. These were the final home games for our teams. Both teams each night wore Bright pink ribbons in their hair for National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Lady Pioneers fought hard both night with Seanna Demontiney leading the team in kills with nine the first night. The second-night Amiya Griffith led the Pioneers with 25 team-high kills. Sophmore Amiya Griffith led the team on the first night with five team-high aces, but on the second night, senior Lainey Gregory led the team with 15 team-high aces. Within the whole team, there was a fighting 105 dig count, led by Amanda Cline on the first night. On the second night, the team registered an altogether dig score of 136, led again by libero Amanda Cline.

Stacey Allderdice led the team-high blocks the first night with a count of six. In the next game, Alicia Bjornstad led the team with one total block. Lainey Gregory led seven team-high assists on Thursday, and on Friday, Alicia led the team-high count with 23 assists.

Coach Brittany McKenney said, "I am proud of our overall effort this week. Friday night's five-set loss was an emotional one. However, we are looking forward to districts and can't wait to bring our best. Everyone keeps saying how "we are right there," and I hope we will get "there" when it matters the most! We will be fighting every step of the way."

They were both tough teams, but the Ladies fought hard and played with good sportsmanship. We celebrated senior and parent night with a large audience on Friday, October 25th. The Ladies played hard and took the losses like a team.
