Summer Reading at the Jeff Reichelt Library

June 10, 2020

It was fun to discover Mother Goose walking the streets of Big Sandy. Even more fun to see that she had ways to encourage the kids to read.

According to Mother Goose, "This year's Summer Reading theme is Imagine Your Story, and challenge you to use your imagination. You can go on adventures with Jack and the Beanstalk or ride a wild unicorn. The adventure is yours to have."

"Although this year's Summer Reading Program will look different than usual we have used our imaginations to come up with ways for our patrons to participate. Starting Wednesday June 10th from 10:00am to 4:00pm, a librarian will be set up outside and will be giving out craft kits, reading logs and adult reading challenges. The reading logs are encourage to keep motivating kids to read. Rewards will be given out to those who read the most hours. If you follow the Big Sandy Library Facebook page a video of the craft will be posted and a story time."

According to Darlene Cline the library just started allowing patrons to come into the library. Call to make an appointment at 378-2161. Patrons are limited to 30 minutes of browsing. Computers are for work or printing purposes only. Children must be accompanied by an adult within the library. Curbside pickup is still available for those that want that service.
