Update on Covid-19 case in Chouteau County

July 15, 2020

There has been one incidence of a positive test in Chouteau County even though it is not showing up on the State website. The reason for this is that the person who tested positive is visiting Chouteau County and gave her address in California when she was tested. Hence the positive will be counted by her home county even though she is temporarily residing and recovering in Chouteau County. There have also been other incidences of people testing positive outside of our county but having had contact with county residents. Armed with this information and with new Covid 19 cases surging in Montana (close to 100 in one day this week), it is time to review guidelines to protect yourself and your family.

As a community we need to be vigilant and practice precautions to keep our citizens safe. Please continue to wash your hand frequently and for at least 20 seconds, practice social distancing and wear a mask when social distancing is not possible, don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth, avoid large gatherings, stay home if you or anyone in your family is ill, and regularly sanitize frequently touched surfaces in your home.

Call the Chouteau County Public Health Department at 622-3771 if you have questions or if you are planning a public event. Also like us on Facebook ‘Chouteau County Health Department’. Stay well Chouteau County.
