We want to thank everyone who donated to our organization in the past year. 47 individuals received financial support in 2020. Many of those individuals received checks quarterly as they continued to treat their cancer. Gas cards were given to those that needed a little help getting to doctor appointments and scheduled treatments. Around $24,000 was distributed directly to individuals treating cancer in 2020.
When we become aware of someone with a cancer diagnosis, we contact the individual to confirm the information. We then give the individual a check for $200 in an effort to offer support and help in a tangible way. Our organization reviews the status of each individual every 3 months to see if they are still treating cancer or what the status is. As long as the treatment continues the individual will receive $200 quarterly.
The funds for our giving come from donations received. The Chouteau County Cancer Support Group is a 501C3 non-profit. Our income in 2020 was down compared to the previous years due to lack of opportunities to gather and to raise awareness in social settings. If your family has not been touched by cancer, it is assured you know someone who has had a diagnosis of cancer. The CCCSG is dedicated to continuing to offer support, education and help in whatever way is needed. Don’t forget us when you are thinking of where to donate for your deductible donations.
