Gov. Gianforte Launches Agriculture Week, Brings Back Montana Meat Day

March 23, 2022

In honor of Montana agriculture, the state's number one industry, Governor Greg Gianforte today proclaimed March 20-26 Montana Agriculture Week and March 20 Montana Meat Day.

"As Montanans, we take great pride in the world-class ag products grown, raised, or made here in the Treasure State," Gov. Gianforte said. "Serving as the cornerstone to rural communities across our great state, our farmers and ranchers produce the best products and work hard to feed our nation and the world."

Since 1973, Americans have celebrated National Ag Day to recognize the agriculture industry, its families, and their treasured way of life.

Throughout Montana Agriculture Week, Gov. Gianforte will promote Montana's agriculture industry and the more than 27,000 working farms and ranches in the state today.

In response to the MeatOut challenge designed to remove meat from diets, Gov. Gianforte also proclaimed Sunday, March 20 Montana Meat Day. The governor encourages all Montanans to celebrate Montana Meat Day with some world-class beef, chicken, lamb, or pork from Montana ranchers.
