The bulk of the highlights belonged to Sunburst Friday as Lane Lerum threw four TD passes and Michael Buckley scored three times to lead the Sunburst Refiners over the Big Sandy Pioneers 47-0 at Sunburst during the Refiners homecoming.
The Pioneers have now been tested and reminded what it is going to take to be competitive this season.
An early flu has hit and Big Sandy's team stamina could have been affected. With the curse of being undefeated now eradicated the Pioneers can focus on putting together a full successful season and battle for some titles and new plaques for the wall.
