From the first day of freshman practice to their final games as seniors, these athletes have shown grit, determination, and heart. They’ve led their t...

1/11 We kicked off the week in Chester, which was a tough night for our Lady Pioneers. Our C Squad, JV and Varsity each lost. CJI has a strong team this year and we didn’t show up the way we could and should have. The gym felt very dead throughout the night, which made it extra challenging, but we have to figure out how to bring the energy in those moments. We were also missing key players on our Varsity, but it’s important for us to play through adversity. There’s a lot of talent among...

Ultimately mistakes in all three phases to the game resulted in 24 straight points for the Rangers. The game ended at halftime after an injury to a Big Sandy player and a lightning delay put a pause to the action. Coaches for both teams concluded that the second half would not be played. The injured player sustained a severe concussion...
Karter Jurenka took the opening kickoff return back for a touchdown but Pioneer turnovers and mistakes lead to a blow out loss. The Pioneers struggled to get anything going on either side of the ball in Friday night’s loss at Lincoln. Fumbles on the first two offensive possessions led to Lynx touchdowns. The defense was unable to stop the Lynx offense throughout the game, while mistakes on offense ended potential scoring drives. Coach Taylor takes responsibility for the lackluster performance of the Pioneer Football team. “Anytime the team com...
