The Montana Association of Clerks and Recorders is sponsoring two statewide scholarships in the amount of $1,000 and $500. All graduating seniors who will be attending an in state school are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted until March 16, 2018.

Application forms are available at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at the Courthouse in Fort Benton or from the Guidance Counselors at the Big Sandy, Fort Benton, Geraldine, and Highwood High Schools.

Completed application forms must be received by Clerk and Recorder Lana Claassen by March 16, 2018. Applications from Chouteau County will be judged by a Clerk and Recorder in a different county and then submitted to be judged with winners from all counties. Applications are judged on the basis of scholastic performance, goals, and school and civic involvement.

The winners will be notified after May 1, 2018. The scholarship will be given directly to the school of the student’s choice after the student has been accepted by the school.
