June 8, 2016



The unofficial minutes of the May 17 School Board meeting showed all trustees were present. Staff present was Superintendent Moore, Clerk Engle and Lead Elementary teacher Heather Wolery.

Visitors present were Colby Cline, Joe Bahnmiller, Dan Matthew, Pat Matthew and Mary Ophus.

The Pledge was recited after Chairman Strutz called the meeting to order. Guests were welcomed and minutes were approved from the previous meeting.

The agenda was rearranged.

There were no public comments to the Board and there was one thank you received from the Class of 2017 for accepting their sneak trip request.

Certified teaching contracts were approved for Kim Perry for English and Emily Wheeler in Social Studies.

Superintendent Moore reported that the main gym has been painted and they are still looking at getting the annex done.

The Board approved selling a lot to Bill Edwards for $2,250.00 with acceptance within ten days and closing in thirty days.

Due to having fewer days in the school year, Mary Ophus asked for a fee reduction for the bus stop.

The Board voted to lower the bus stop fee to $120.00 per semester.

The Board approved Matthew Transportation for Route 3-River and Route 6- highway 87 through 2016-2017 with 16c reading Fuel provided: 11-20 trips, the lease fee will be 70% of the daily contracted fee per mile.

Due to some questions on the incoming bus riders, the Districts routes will be addressed later.

Extra duty contracts were approved.

Lisa Sipler was hired as the Concessions Manager.

Colby Cline was hired as the Athletic Director, varsity wrestling coach and junior high wrestling coach.

Shersteen Cline was hired as the varsity volleyball coach.

Eric Schwarzbach was hired for summer help at the schools.

Colby Cline was hired as the assistant track coach.

The Board approved a list of obsolete equipment to be sold.

The Board approved Rocky Boy’s and Box Elder’s requests to enter.

The School Board was reorganized at this time.

Brad Weaver was administered the Oath of Office and was seated on the Board of Trustees.

Andrew Long was approved as Trustee and was administered the Oath of Office.

Brad Weaver was approved as Board Chairman.

Diana LaBuda was approved as Board Vice-Chairman.

Maryetta Engle was approved as District Clerk.

A safety plan will be updated with suicide information this summer when handbooks are completed.

Superintendent Moore reported he has accepted the resignation of Josh Tone.

Government Day will be May 16.

Superintendent Moore will try to schedule a second day of Strategic Planning in June.

Due to conflicting schedules the June Board Meeting will be at 7pm on June 28, 2016

There has been some interest in changing the grading scale. It will be placed on the agenda at a later date.

Claims and warrants were approved and the meeting was adjourned.

The next regular Board meeting will be June 28.
