Did ya see that whiteout blow through town Friday morning?? No, that was the Big Sandy Pioneers leaving in the new unlabeled white cruiser bus for their near Idaho trip to Noxon. Now, cause Robbie says so, let us get the score in the first three sentences 33-22 BIG SANDY THE VICTORS!!! Now, don't get too excited, it is early in the season, but things are looking up in Big Sandy. Laurence Allderdice got the ball rolling with a 55 yard TD run that Big Sandy topped with a pass to Darlington to set the tone for the game and show Noxon we made this journey to win. Allderdice would stuff in another by the half to put Big Sandy up 13-8 at the half.

It was a good game with each team posting scores and the contest being close till the end. Big Sandy with its ground attack laying down lanes like a combine for Laurence to find the endzone 5 times. Duke managed to kick one through the uprights for that unique 6-man 2 point conversion. The Noxon Devils got all their touchdowns through pass completions showing the Pioneers a different style of offense. The Men in Purple showed that all that hard work and mosquitos in the helmet in August is going to pay off and it is going to be a great season!!!

The journey was a long one. A big Danke Shun to Super Brad Moore for getting the new bus up and in the mix despite difficulties. Too bad for the kitties Brad. It is good to see the Pioneers came out in the first week rolling the Noxon Devils. The boys have been hungry to get out and play a game and now with the skunk out of the box we must keep that hunger alive. Come out for the big game against Box Elder on Friday and support the guys so they can keep it going. The 2016/2017 Pioneers have some big goals in mind for the upcoming year and it all starts with Football and Volleyball season. Summers cooling down and the fall sports action is heating up.
