Big Sandy Students Job Shadow at the "Mountaineer"

When this "Mountaineer" reporter first heard about job shadowing he thought it must be about Lamont Cranston and "The Shadow". Little did he know that it was really about going to see what a job entails so that the student might want to go into that line of work.

Juniors and Seniors at Big Sandy High School have gone to Great Falls and followed people around for a day to see if they might be interested in a job like the one they were shadowing.

But not until this year has Shersteen Cline's Personalffinance class followed people around Big Sandy to see if a job might just fit one of them.

Last week, at the "Mountaineer" we had four from that class looking around, trying to get a handle on what we do or do not do at the "Mountaineer".

Being a reporter is being a writer so it seemed fitting for our four shadowers to write something. And with Thanksgiving just around the corner, how fitting for each of them to write about a memorable Thanksgiving or a memorable Thanksgiving person they wanted to share with the world.

All Leslie and Robby said, at the "Mountaineer" is that we hoped they would be around 500 words and we would put them on the front page of our Thanksgiving issue.

Well, read on gentle readers. You will find that one job shadower did one very good Thanksgiving story.

We know that not all four will become a career journalist but several could, and that is pretty awesome!

Thanks to the four of you for making the "Mountaineer" a better paper!
