Now that the Thanksgiving turkey is now left overs or has been consumed, Christmas lights are starting to pop up everywhere in and around Big Sandy. In past years the Big Sandy Rotary Club has sponsored a Christmas lighting contest to encourage all the Clark Griswold wannabes that are in and around the town of Big Sandy to show off their decorating skills. The 2021 Christmas season promises to be no different. The Big Sandy Rotary Club will sponsor a lighting contest again this year. We hope to have a well lit town for everyone to enjoy whether they are just passing through on the highway through town, are visiting for a while or are living here. All you have to do is to put up some lights for the holidays that everyone can enjoy. With the holiday season upon us, the forecast is for warmth and fun for everyone in and around Big Sandy. The Christmas spirit that we reflect in our bright lights is an invitation to all who pass through to stop and enjoy what Big Sandy has to offer. Let’s get those lights up and join in the holiday spirit with your neighbors and friends. The Rotary Club will award prizes right after the first of the year as the club begins its preparations for the 2022 Annual Benefit Banquet.
