BSMC hires interim CEO

July 13, 2022

The Big Sandy Medical Center has hired an interim CEO, following the resignation of the current CEO last week. Ron Wiens, an administrator from Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena, was hired for the interim position while the BSMC Board of Directors advertise and begin a search for a permanent CEO. Mr. Wiens started work in the Big Sandy Medical Center on Monday, July 11. The medical center is remaining under local board direction as it has since its founding. The BSMC Board of Directors will continue receiving advisement from Cypress Healthcare as they have for the past eighteen months. The Board of Directors is grateful for the dedication of the BSMC staff during this transition time which has enabled the facility to continue providing high-quality services and patient care for which they are known. We wish to express our appreciation to the former CEO, Leah Griffith, for her many years of service and wish her well in her next endeavor. We invite the community to join us in extending a warm welcome to Ron Wiens to the Big Sandy community.
