The Big Sandy Mountaineer -

The Big Sandy Swim Team found themselves competing in their last regular season meet of the year, just down the road this weekend in Fort Benton. They placed fourth in team points behind powerhouse Lewistown, who crossed over from the eastern division to give our swimmers a taste of the competition they'll face in two weeks at the state meet. Placing second was Columbia Falls and third was the Bitterroot Swim team.

Leading the scoring for the Barracudas was MacKenzie Werk, who scored 42 points and swept her events again this week. She brought home the gold in the 100 Meter IM, 50 free and 100 free. Henry Merrill was right on her heels, scoring 40 points. He won the 50 free and 50 fly and placed second in the 100 free. Daisy Labuda placed third in the 15-19 division, winning the 50 free and placing second in the 100 free and third in the 50 fly.

The Barracudas will be heading to Hamilton this coming weekend for the Western divisional meet, hoping for their chance to punch their tickets to the state meet in Lewistown.
