The Lady Pioneers beat CJI 62-51. The Lady Hawks jumped out quickly in the game, scoring three fast layups from breaking the Lady Pioneer press. Keira Galbavy stepped up and took a charge, her first of 3 for the game, causing the Lady Hawks to turn the ball over the next couple of possessions. After a jumper from Eva Yeadon and a steal from her and Eva Wagoner, followed by a bucket, the Last Pioneers pulled within 3, with a score of 5-8. The Lady Hawks continued to score fast break opportunities, but after a steal from Galbavy, a steal from Jai Baumann and layup, and a 3-pointer by Yeadon, put the Lady Pioneers within one point. CJI made a crucial turnover, leading Mattie Gasvoda with an opportunity for a layup, putting the girls on top for the first time. After a Gasvoda steal and a free throw chance for CJI, the 1st quarter ended with a tie, 12-12.

The 2nd quarter started quickly, with both teams equally aggressive with back-to-back buckets, hustle plays, and fast break layups. The Lady Hawks had a couple big out of bounds plays with scores, putting them up 6 points. But Wagoner, Yeadon, and Baumann had great offensive plays for scores. Galbavy took her 2nd charge of the game, as well as having a nice pass to Alex Worrall with 5 seconds left in the quarter, putting the Lady Pioneers writhing 1 point going into halftime, with a score of 27-28.

The 3rd quarter started just like the 2nd quarter ended, with both teams giving it all they got, going back and forth with great defensive stops and offensive scores. Baumann had great passes to Angie Sant, and Wagoner led both teammates with great scoring opportunities. Galbavy had a big steal and a big rebound and put back to put Big Sandy up by 2, heading into the last stanza.

The 4th quarter opened up with Galbavy taking her 3rd charge of the game. That set the tone for the Lady Pioneers down the stretch. Their aggressive defense caused the Lady Hawks to turn the ball over 3 possessions in a row. The Lady Pioneers put the Lady Hawks away with a big win with some big buckets offensively from Wagoner, Yeadon, and Baumann. The final score of the game was 62-51.

Coach Baumann said, "The girls have been working hard and are starting to understand and get more comfortable with our offensive and defensive schemes. On Saturday, against a very young but scrappy CJI team, the girls had to fight against adversity. We got into foul trouble early and weren't ready for CJI's height. They stayed the course and battled hard until the end. "

Lady Pioneers beat Turner by 23 points, 60-37. The Lady Pioneers started a little rough in shots starting 0-8 for their first few shots. Turner also had a hard time finding a flow due to great defense from the Lady Pioneers, both in a full-court and half-court set. Low score for the first 3 mins with a score of 2-2. The Lady Pioneers found momentum in some steals from Jai Baumann, Keira Galbavy, and Eva Wagoneer. Eva Yeadon had two big 3-pointers putting the Lady Pioneers up 14-4 at the end of the 1st.

Big Sandy came out strong in the 2nd quarter, scoring 22 points with great buckets from Wagoneer, Yeadon, Baumann, Galbavy, and Alex Worrall. The Lady Pioneers continued to rattle the Lady Tornados, causing them to have 22 turnovers by halftime. Turner did their best to try and turn things around for themselves and came within 8 points. But the Lady Pioneers had great hustle plays, creating a lot of jump balls. Turner also couldn't stop Big Sandy from their drives to the basket putting the Lady Pioneers up 36-18 to end the half.

Big Sandy only outscored Turner by 5 points in the 2nd half, but due to the turnover and inconsistent offense, Turner couldn't get anything to go their way. The Lady Pioneers had great offensive plays, passing and shooting, and fast break opportunities coming from Yeadon, Wagoneer, Galbavy, and Baumann. The Lady Pioneers put away the Lady Tornados with a final score of 60-37.

Coach Baumann said, "Friday night, the girls showed they could get out, get up on a team, and hold their lead! All in all, it was a very good weekend for the girls. We come back this week with a Thursday night game in Chinook; then we are back home on Saturday against Hays."
