The Lady Pioneers played a doubleheader against Hays winning both, and also played CJI this last week losing a tough match-up. The girls had some very hard-fought battles and came away with some wins, and some lessons learned.

The girls came out victorious against Hays. In the first match, the Lady Pioneers won 25-6, 25-12, and 25-6. The team and individual results were as follows:

The Lady Pioneers then hosted the Lady Hawk on Saturday and that was a battle, so much fun to watch as both teams fought hard. The Lady Pioneers had some great hustle plays, great hits, and digs too. CJI took the first two sets with a score of 25-22. The Lady Pioneers showed some grit, overcame some adversity, and won the 3rd set 25-22. Going into the 4th set, the Lady Pioneers came out strong and went up with a score of 14-7, but the Lady Hawks scored 11 points in a row, putting them up by 4. The Lady Pioneers worked so hard, but unfortunately came up short in the 4th set, and lost 19-25.

When asked her thoughts about the game, coach McKenney said, "I was happy with our overall effort, but ultimately our offense hurt us. We were scrappy and served consistently, but at some point, we had to put the ball down. I look forward to playing them later in the season. I've seen what these girls can do offensively so if we showcase that next time, good things will happen for us. This week we play North Star at Rudyard on Thursday and Fort Benton at home on Saturday. I hope the community will come to support these girls on their home court because it should be another great match!"

The team and individual results were as follows:

Digs: 114 with Jai Baumann having 25

Assists: 24 with Jai Baumann having 14

Kills: 35 with Eva Yeadon and Keira Galbavy having 11

Blocks: 3 with Keira Galbavy with 2

Aces: 2 with Eva Yeadon and Keira Galbavy with 1
