Senior Center News

November 8, 2023

October proved to be a hectic month here at the senior center. We started the month with pinochle and greeting card making and ended the month with pumpkin decorating and a family fun night. The beginning of the month started a little slow, but as the month progressed, we became busier.

Each event brought in brought in new guests. We had guests from Rocky Boy, Box Elder, Fort Benton, and a few from Great Falls who came and enjoyed lunch, Thursday morning cinnamon rolls, and a few of the events that took place. We were also blessed with a few new volunteers, some from the Honor Society at the High school and Chad Cooks family, who assisted with our family fun night. Without the help of our volunteers and all those who came out to participate in the October events, it would not have been such a success.

Family fun night brought in over 40 community members of all ages. Our dining hall was full of friends and families, conversation, entertainment by the little ones, and a lot of laughter, not to mention the yelling of BINGO. Our youngest Bingo winners were the Chauvet kids; the most called-out BINGO was by Debbie and her grandson, and our 50/50 had two winners. Our first winner for 50/50 was Barb, who took home $180.00, and the second winner was Jon Johnson, who won earrings provided by JB Donovan's in Havre and a family pass to the Billings Zoo. Congratulations to all the winners that night.

That sums up the month of October. Now we enter the season of holidays; It is hard to believe it is already November. November is a month of honor. On the 11th, we honor our veterans; here at the senior center, we will be providing a Veterans Day meal on the 9th to honor all Veterans, all those who have served. We thank you for your service and are delighted to invite you to lunch so we can honor what you have done for our country. Then, the following Thursday, the 16th, we will celebrate Thanksgiving. All the while, we are preparing for the winter stroll breakfast with a special visitor from the North Pole. As you can see, we here at the senior center enjoy our jobs, meeting new people, and keeping busy. Don't forget, if you need help this holiday season, call us; we can help by baking dinner rolls and cinnamon or caramel rolls to place on your table.

We wish you a holiday season full of happiness and joy
