Six Pioneer Wrestler excel in first invitational

The Big Sandy Wrestlers went to their first wrestling invitational and excelled.

Tucker Taylor, assistant coach this year, sent me the following information: "The kids wrestled really well at the first tournament of the year! Harley Labuda won the championship at 120 pounds. Those wrestling for the championship but taking 2nd are Quinn Rodewald, boys 120 pound, Randi Hardman girls 107 pounds, and Garrett LeFurgey boys 132 pounds. Wesley Cox took 3rd at 157 pounds and Samuel Cox took 4th at 205. A good start to the season." A good start? Every wrestler from Big Sandy placed making that a phonemical start!

Kyle Rodewald, Head coach this year, wrote: "The boys took 9th out of 22 teams with four boys. The Big Sandy girls took 7th out of 17 teams with only two girls. The largest seeding place difference was Garrett LeFurgey. The most team points was Harley LaBuda. Most single match points Randi Hardman. Most total match points, tie, Randi Hardman and Quinn Rodewald. Badger Invitational Girls Quick Pin trophy, Harley Labuda, with four pins in 3.35."
