Daniel "Boone" Clifford Ulmen

In Loving Memory of Daniel “Boone” Clifford Ulmen of Havre, 63, who passed away November 18, 2025 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT.

Dan was born May 7, 1962 at Kennedy Deaconess Hospital in Havre, MT. Dan was raised in Big Sandy, MT and graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1981. While he was in high school, Dan was in the basketball and football teams and loved it.

He loved Big Sandy and enjoyed all his fun times with his friends growing up. After graduation, he attended the Christian College in Eugene, Oregon and attended MSU–Northern.

Dan enjoyed going all around Big Sandy and out to his grandfather’s old ranch and different places. He loved his family and friends. He had a mischievous sense of humor and enjoyed people. He always believed in family.

Dan worked at the Havre Public School System and was also in Oregon for a time and worked at the Estacada and Sandy Public School systems there. When he came back to Montana, he also worked in the KG School system and at MSU–Northern as the Director of Facilities Services for over 25 years.

There was a great celebration of his life in December at Northern Montana College. They were very proud of his work and said he did a great job.

Dan was a lover of animals. All donations and proceeds can be made to any animal shelter of choice. Dan will be remembered by his loyal heart, his rich laughter, and unwavering friendships.

Dan was married to Alice Bulman on March 11, 1988 in Maine and later divorced. Dan was married to Kilah Hutchinson and later divorced.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, grandparents, uncles, and several aunts. He loved them all very much and spent time with all of them.

Survivors include sons, Ryan Ulmen, Jacob Ulmen, Donovan Ulmen and Samual (Christy) Ulmen; granddaughters, Alyssa Ulmen‑Rousch and Alexxa Ulmen; Mom, Wanda (Wayne Hucks) Ulmen, and his Dad, Denny (Dolly) Ulmen; sisters, Denise (Elliott) Reynolds and Darla Lawson; nephews, Kyle (Stacey) Reynolds, Keith (Patty) Reynolds and Christian Lawson, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

May he rest in peace and be reunited with those that have went before him and be forever held by friends who will never forget the gentle, loyal, and generous man who in his own way helped out as much as he could.
