Thelma Mae Benefit October 24

Thelma Mae Briney is two years old and is going through treatments that no two year old should have to go through. Her parents have an extraordinary amount of expenses so friends are having a benefit for Thelma Mae on Saturday, October 24 2015 at the Jerry Martin Memorial Hall on Main Street in Big Sandy, Montana.

There will be a free will spaghetti dinner served from 5 to 7pm and a silent auction and raffles from 5 to 7pm and a live auction at 7pm.

Thelma is the two year old daughter of Brad Briney and Mandy Williams Briney of Kalispell and granddaughter of Robert and Judy Williams of Big Sandy. She was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. It is called Clear Sarcoma of the Kidney. Last Wednesday, Thelma, her parents and Brother Elliott got some good news. The present treatment seems to be working. The family will be in Seattle for the next 6 to 8 months.

Heather Pleninger said that it all happened on July 14 when Thelma Mae complained of a stomach ache and had a fever. The next day she was airlifted to Seattle.

On July 17 Seattle doctors removed a kidney and a tumor.

The family had to get an apartment in Seattle and still have a home in Kalispell to pay for. Mandy had to quit her teaching job and the tiny family finds themselves between a rock and a hard spot.

Both parents need to be in Seattle as does brother Elliott. Their hope is that their Seattle journey will end successfully in five more months.

Meanwhile friends in Big Sandy are planning the benefit for Thelma May. Remember, it is October 24 for dinner and a silent auction, 50-50 raffles and a live auction at the Jerry Williams Memorial Hall in Big Sandy.

The family asks that you remember them in our thoughts and prayers. Heather Pleninger hopes you can join the benefit on the 24th as the family is far away from friends, family and jobs.

If you cannot attend but would like to donate, please find the Thelma Mae Fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Big Sandy.
