The Big Sandy Pioneer volleyball team finished the season this past weekend at the District 6C-East tournament, finishing fourth.
The Pioneers began to put things together the last few weeks and earned a first round sweep of the Box Elder Bears 25-16, 25-20 and 25-22 to begin tournament play.
The Bears won the first match of the season but it was Big Sandy that took the season series two matches to one. The girls topped the Bears the final week of the regular season 3-1 and fought back in all three sets Thursday to advance.
