Deadline for acreage Reports is November 15

November 11, 2015

November 15th is the deadline to file acreage reports with FSA for fall-seeded and perennial crops (including introduced and native grass intended for grazing). FSA crop acreage reports are required for all ARC/PLC participants, as well as those participating in CRP or requesting commodity loans. 2016 map sets were not mailed. Producers wishing to file an acreage report with FSA should either stop by the local office to pick up their maps/complete the process, or ask that their maps be emailed to them. Email requests should be sent to JESSICA.L.ANDERSON@MT.USDA.GOV.

FSA has announced that a Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general signup period will be held from December 1st through February 27th. The Chouteau County FSA office will conduct informational meetings to inform producers of the signup process, and the applicable regulations, in early December. The exact dates, meeting times, and locations are not yet known. FSA expects to announce the specific details for each meeting before Thanksgiving. The CRP Grasslands signup period ends on November 20th. The CRP grasslands program allows producers to enter land into a 15 year contract at a reduced rental rate ($15/acre), but grazing is allowed during the contract period, subject to certain restrictions.
