Variety Show Scheduled for June12

June 1, 2016

Please mark your calendars for a Variety Show fundraier for the new library in Big Sandy. Sunday, June 12 at 7:00, performers will be taking the stage at the high school auditorium. Last year we had everything from hula dancing to concert pianists, ages 6 to well past 60! This year’s program will be just as entertaining. If you would like to participate, please contact Marla Ray at 378-2606 for more information. Construction of the new library is finished, and the interior work is nearing completion. New sidewalk will be poured this summer, and the grand opening is scheduled for early September. This building has been a tremendous achievement for the town of Big Sandy. Main Street has a new, eye-catching location thanks to architect Keith Ballentyne, the crews under the watchful eye of Brian Robinson Construction, and all the steady donors, particularly the Big Sandy High School alumni. Grants are still being sought by Debra Clark, the county library grant writer, to help raise the last $50,000. Purchasing your $10 ticket for the Variety Show will move us closer to our goal. EVERY donation does! Many thanks to those families who have contributed so generously with memorials for their loved ones. Fundraisers Ann Quinn, Dee Pribyl, and Marla Ray thank each and every one of you who have helped and continue to help with this daunting project. See you at the Show!
