New Face Cooking Kamut These Days

Thomas Dilworth

Thomas Dilworth has taken over management of the Kracklin' Kamut enterprise of Bob Quinn.

Dilworth is originally from Idaho but has been in Fort Benton for a time and while in Fort Benton, he helped Quinn on several projects.

"I love Montana. It is like home," added Dilworth. "I did some construction work for Bob's wife Ann then Bob took over. I then had a lot of construction to do. You know Bob. The list just got longer and longer and we became close as well."

When Bob Quinn offered Dilworth the manager's job of running Kracklin' Kamut, Dilworth was very surprised as he thought he was going to be offered the job of helping the former manager.

"I about fell off the coach. I realized he was asking me to take the job over." Said Dilworth.

Dilworth worked the process for a week, then took over on May 23.

"I make the product, package it, sell it and distribute it," said Dilworth.

Thomas Dillworth's approach to marketing Kracklin' Kamut is different than that of the former manager,

"I want to see the stores sell the product," commented Dilworth. "My objective is to get the stores to know me and the product."

Dilworth further commented that 2J's in Great Falls is going to be working on marketing the product with Dilworth.

Look for other flavors to come out soon Dilworth said. He said that they are looking at a sweet honey chocolate, a chipotle for spice, ranch and a BBQ taste.

"But first we have to be profitable," said Dilworth. "That is why at this time I am on the road a lot. I am building relationships and building the product."

One other thing Dilworth said was that they would not sell the product from their log building on Main Street any more. Kranklin' Kamut will be sold exclusively by stores in and around Montana.

Dilworth said that related back to his love of Montana. He explained that many people love Montana and his objective is to bring a piece of Montana, completely made here in Montana to people and when doing that to sort of package it as the face of Montana.

"I am also always open to feed back. I am not an expert in everything but I think I can get Kracklin' Kamut on every appropriate store shelf in Montana," said Dilworth.

Dilworth is married and has a six month old baby and an eleven year old who will be with them this summer.

"My wife Heather is my backbone," said Dilworth. "She keeps me straight and humble, as much as she can."

Dilworth added that anyone traveling around Montana or leaving Montana is more than welcome to take samples to get the Kracklin' Kamut news out to as many as possible

Dilworth's goal is simple.

"My biggest dream is that five years from now, Bob and Ann Quinn come to him and say thanks for making it bigger than we thought it could be," said Dilworth.

That just might happen.
