The Big Sandy Rotary Club’s weekly Monday meetings are a busy place. Your Rotarians are getting ready to host the 2017 Annual Benefit Banquet on March 18, 2017. The decorating committee has met and is preparing to turn the Big Sandy High School Gymnasium into the Spring Paradise we are all dreaming of. Come and join the fun and games along with your friends and neighbors to help us forget the cold, snow and mud we have been experiencing these past few weeks.

Each year banquet proceeds provide funding for many things in our community that touch all aspects of our community and are what make Big Sandy such a great place to live. One long time Rotary project is a partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Imagination Library provides an age appropriate book each month to children age one month to five years. The Big Sandy Rotary Club has been sponsoring the project in Big Sandy for 11 years. To date approximately $8,900 has been spent on books for up to 40 children each month. The Big Sandy Rotary Club has also provided dictionaries to area third grade students since 2009 in its continuing effort to promote literacy in our youth.

The tickets for the Big Sandy Rotary Club Annual Benefit Banquet are on sale now and can be purchased from any Rotarian, at Wells Fargo Bank and Tom Sheehy’s office in Big Sandy. The purchase of a banquet ticket gives you the opportunity to participate in one of Big Sandy’s main fund raising events for your community. There are many exquisite silent auction items and various raffle events to raise money for the community. There are special drawings, door prizes, lots of good food and good conversation with your neighbors and friends from all around Chouteau County.

Inflation has not touched the banquet ticket price. Tickets are the same price they were in 1984, $100.00 each. Because many area businesses sponsor the various games and prizes and the generous contributions made at the banquet the Rotary Club can continue its many projects that enhance our lives in Big Sandy. Each ticket is good for a prime rib dinner for two, eligibility to win a grand prize of $3,000.00 along with nine other big prizes. Tickets are going fast so it is important to make sure you get your ticket soon.
