The Big Sandy Mountaineer -

The Chamber has decided to dissolve and form a Community Group. They would like to see if there is an interest in forming a Community Group to see if there is more people that would like to get involved.

The decision was made to dissolve was one that was talked about for a while. It was thought that a Chamber no longer fit with a community of this size. They are hoping by changing the group to a more community ordinated group more people would want to get involved. Membership won’t be limited to any criteria and anyone is welcome. The new group would still do things to better the community and continue the Christmas Stroll. They are hoping to vamp up membership and have people bring new ideas.

The new group doesn’t have a name yet, but it will promote the town of Big Sandy and celebrate all that Big Sandy has to offer. A get-to-together is on tap for Tuesday, May 1st at 6:00 p.m. at The Mint. They would love to invite everyone that would like to be part of this new group. The idea is to get people involved in community service and projects that will improve and promote Big Sandy. Bring your ideas and celebrate this great little town.

As of right now Chamber bucks will still be honored.
