Booster Club plans Fall Kick-Off and purchases needed equipment

Before the Booster Club meeting, the fall sports player/parent meetings were held with new rules concerning Booster club donations to the school. (See Article from Melanie Schwarzbach) The Booster Club met at 8:00 for short, let’s make the important decisions, meeting. President Jeri Roth said she has sent out Corporate Sponsor letters and knows there are at least two new sponsors. Those who are sponsors should be receiving the letters in the mail.

Junior High and High School Volleyball girls presented their request for volley practice gear and equipment including practice shirts, volleyballs, and volleyball ramps. The Booster club voted to spend money up to what was spent last year for the football team, per state rules.

They also bought a new weight machine and fans for the weight room. There was also a request for two new speakers for the football field; it was also approved.

They will also purchase spirit boosters for the cheerleaders to hand out at games.

Other ideas were discussed, like cement for another grade school basketball court, and support for a new tennis court, but due to the cost of each project, no decision was made at that time.

This year the Fall Kick off will take place August 27 at 5:30. Track awards will be presented as well as introductions to the football and volleyball teams. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs to purchase as well as the opportunity to pay dues for your membership.

This year Lefty’s of Fort Benton will be present to take orders for the Big Sandy Pioneer wear gear. There will be some gear there to buy, but you will also have the opportunity to purchase the shirt/sweatshirt and the design you would prefer.

The evening will end with another powder puff football game the highlight of last year’s Fall Kick off.
