4th Annual Big Sandy American Legion Coyote Derby, January 3

Members of the Big Sandy American Legion hold up the poster of sponsors for this years derby.

The 4th Annual Big Sandy American Legion Coyote Derby will take place January 3rd through January 5th at the Jerry Martin Memorial Hall.

The early registration deadline is Friday, December 20th. Be sure to be entered so you can be in the drawing to win your entry fee back. You do not have to preregister; they will be taking entries up until 8 pm on January 3rd, 2020. Cost is $40 a person up to a 4-man team. There are a Calling Class and an Open Class with $1000 added to each pot. 75% of the entry fees are also added to the pot.

The host bar is the Diamond 4 U Club in Big Sandy. On January 3rd, there is check-in and registration between

6-8 pm with a rules meeting and Calcutta starting at 8. The chili dinner is free for everyone on January 4th- teams check-in between 5-9 pm. The final check-in is on January 5th. All teams must be checked in by 5 pm with a spaghetti dinner starting at five. The spaghetti dinner is $5 a plate, which is open to everyone.

The American Legion is doing a raffle as well. Only 300 tickets will be sold. They are $20 each or 6 for $100. 1st prize is a Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor HMR Rifle. 2nd prize is a Primos Electronic caller, and 3rd prize is a Sig Sauer Kilo BDX Range Finder.

All proceeds go to continue the scholarship programs we have established and to help any veterans that may be in need.
