High school Choir Performs Christmas Concert

December 18, 2019

This year's High school Christmas Concert was beautiful and filled with some fantastic talents. The whole choir was dressed in silky, purple robes with white trim. They all looked quite lovely. It began with an opening processional. They entered the auditorium in pairs, walking down the two aisles singing a mix of classical Christmas music. The introducing song was Christmas Bells Are Ringing. The second song was Silent Night. It was accompanied by sign language from the whole choir.

Let There Be Peace on Earth was the third song, led by soloist: Abriana Blanton. This song was chosen to be the song they will sing in Bozeman when they traveled to perform on PBS. A piano solo was played afterward. Seanna Demontiney, a first-year piano student, played Deck the Halls by herself.

Erin Taylor performed a violin of Sonata No. 4 in G Minor. It was beautifully played. You may recognize this name, as she was mentioned last week in The Mountaineer. She is a performer for the Great Falls Youth Orchestra.

Arranged by Julia Lind, O Come All Ye Faithful was played by Jaycee Worrall. It was quite a delightful piano solo. Next, Katherine Bold, Bailey Gasvoda, Kylee Sternberg, Kade Strutz, Erin Taylor, and Tavie Wortman played Ding Dong! Merrily on High with saxophones. It was quite the extravagant ensemble.

"It's Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas" was sang and played by Abriana Blanton and Hope Gasvoda on the ukulele. Afterward, Abriana Blanton Performed again by singing "Santa Baby," accompanied by Melanie Schwarzbach on the piano. Both performances were lovely.

"Blackheart" was played by Katherine Bold as the final piano soloist. Andrew Wrangell arranged it. And finally, two medleys were performed by the whole band for the big Christmas Finale.

The whole concert was arranged and performed beautifully. I enjoyed being there.
