Peace

It was like most days. I am driving to work never really at the same time. It de3pends on when I wake up and how do I want to move that day. Living 25 miles from town, or how we say it in Montana, "half an hour out." I live between the Missouri River and the Bears Paw Mountains. So there are a few hills. The shadows in the morning are beautiful, with the sun getting up. Usually, the sun is brilliant, with a wide variety of gold, pink, and orange. But some mornings, the sun is still covered.

On this day, the sun was up. During winter, everything is a beautiful gray, brownish color, unless it is covered by snow. It was mud today, the weather was in the 40's yesterday, and it never froze last night. My roads are terrible right now; the gravel didn't get put on them during the summer, so we'll have another season of mud-covered vehicles, you never wash because it's impossible to keep them clean.

I finally made it to the hi-way, and halfway to town, I drove up to the back of a grain truck. I couldn't pass it because of the yellow line. But honestly, I didn't want to. At the end of the truck, someone had put in pink PEACE. It's the first of December, so was it done for a decorate for Christmas, but for me, it was more.

My favorite bible verse is Numbers 6:24-26. Gifts God wants to bless us and protect us. Give us illumination, mercy, and peace. One of the gifts Jesus wants to give us is PEACE. Written in Hebrew, it's Shalom the absence of war. Most people view the absence of war as a war between governments, or as in our nation, a war between parties. But God meant it to mean something more personal. The absence of conflict between mom and dad's, between brother and sister, between son and father, mother, and daughter. It also means the absence of war within our being. Imagine being at peace with ourselves - no more war waging against us inside our person. We are at peace. We are living in peace. Peace is an attitude we can have every day. We don't need to struggle with anger or frustration at others or ourselves
