Joyce Carpenter

Joyce passed from a broken heart on Monday February 22, 2021 while sleeping in her home in Billings, MT. She was born January 15, 1952 in Havre, MT. Joyce grew up in Big Sandy and always considered that home. She was a graduate of Big Sandy High School in 1970. She attended Beauty School in Billings after high school where she met and married Ron, the love of her life. They celebrated 48 years of marriage in April 2020.

Joyce had a passion for sewing and baking. She loved making quilts for newborn babies and probably made over 30 that she gave as gifts. She could always be counted on for making fresh baked goods for church and her bible study group. She was a devout Christian woman that loved the Lord and lead her life accordingly. She could always be found at the church pantry and clothes closet handing out goods to those in need.

Joyce was a grandma to 8 grandkids and loved every minute she spent with them. They could always bring a smile to Grandma's face as they were her heart. Joyce was known as the kind, caring, and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend to many. She was a short woman with a German attitude that packed a punch but loved with a huge heart.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband Ron Carpenter and survived by her brother: Vernon Geiser – spouse Elaine (Bakersfield, CA), sister-in laws Cheryl Morris – spouse Mick (Billings, MT), Tara Bradburn Tara Bradburn (Dickenson, ND), three children: Travis Carpenter (Billings, MT) – spouse Christina, Misti Carpenter (Billings, MT), and Laci Davey (Billings, MT) – spouse Ian, eight grandchildren: Cason, Gustavo, Jeffrey, and Caleb Carpenter, Tayla and Alex Kober, Gabriel and Gemma Davey, many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. Condolences may be shared online at smithfuneralchapels.com.

Services were held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Billings. Joyce was interred with Ron at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel.
