The Big Sandy Mountaineer -

With only a dozen swimmers competing, the Barracudas were small in numbers but big in heart as they tallied up 299 points for their fifth place finish in Columbia Falls.

Henry Merrill led the way for the Barracudas, once again sweeping all 3 of his individual races- the 50m free, 100m free, and the 50m fly, as well as helped secure a third place finish in the 100m free relay-scoring the team 42 points and earning himself first place high point honors in the boys 9-10 division. As well as breaking the [pool record in the Butrerfly.

Jai Baumann was back in the pool last weekend and put on a stellar performance after a brief hiatus from competition. She placed second in the 200m IM, and first in the 50m free and 100m breast, scoring 40 team points and earning herself second place high point honors in the girls 13-14 division.

Darrell Sunchild had an admirable weekend in the lanes as well, finishing second in both the 100m free and 200m free, and taking first in the 50m fly. He earned the Barracudas 38 points and went home with second place high point honors for the boys 13-14 division.

Astrid Ketchum also played a big part in the Barracudas fifth place finish, placing third in the 50m free and the 200m free, taking second in the 100m free, and contributed to a third place finish in the 200m free relay, earning the team 32 points and bringing home a fourth place high point honors for herself in the girls 11-12 division.
