Pioneer Volleyball loses to Longhorns in 3, but plays strong in Cascade
September 7, 2022
Coach McKenney, said, “I am super proud of our JV team for beating Fort
Benton in 4 sets. They have been doing really well this season. They
lost a tough battle to Chinook in 5 sets last week, but then beat
North Star in 4 sets the next night. It is fun seeing their progress!”
Fort Benton (20-25, 14-25, 13-25)
“Unfortunately, our Varsity did not show up to play
against Fort Benton. We were making errors that we should not have
been making. Typically, we are a strong serving team, but we did not
showcase that at all. We couldn’t gain the momentum we needed, in
order to win. I look forward to seeing Fort Benton again on October
6th on our home court!”

Coach McKenney commented later, “We had a 2 day tournament in Cascade on Friday and
Saturday. Overall, I was happy with our performance. We had the
opportunity to play 8 different teams, which was awesome. Each match
was only 2 sets to 21 points. Some of the highlights included beating
CJI in both sets, winning a set against Belt, and winning the overall
split against DGS, GFCC and Cascade “A.” There was a lot of excitement
throughout the weekend and I really think we improved.”
