John Deere Tractors take over Masonic Hall in Fort Benton

On July 23, Bethany Chapter #42 held the installation of officers. The chapter room was decorated with a multitude of miniature John Deere tractors, John Deere dolls, bales of hay with containers of wheat and tulips covering the room.

WM elect, Tammie Szarzynski had her special day with the following officers joining her in the installation: WM Tammie Szarzynski, WP Earl Nilsen, AM Vanette Nagamori, Treasurer, Karen Kibbee; Chaplain, Maureen Nilsen; Marshal, Shirley E. Lenington; Esther, Elaine Tucker and Electa, Toni Molinario. The officers were installed by: Stacey Corcino, Installing Officer; Maureen Nilsen, Installing Marshal; Debbie Bricker,Installing Chaplain and Toni Molinario, Installing Organist.

The Chapter was opened informally and those welcomed and introduced by WM Maureen Nilsen were: PGM Shirley E. Lenington, PGPs Earl Nilsen and Earl Bricker; Grand Conductress, Elaine Tucker escorted by her grandson Kael Gilmore: Karen Kibbee, Grand Representative of New Brunswick in MT; Grand Committee Members - Earl Nilsen, Americanism, Unit 5; Stacey Corcino, Cash Raffle; Helen Beckley, Masonic Home Fund, Unit 8 and Worthy Matron elect, Olive Chapter #10, Great Falls and Maureen Nilsen, Montana-Idaho Exchange. All were greeted with inspiring poems.

WM Tammie explained her plans for the coming term. Her theme includes "Fields of Happiness" and let's plant some seeds and sow a Field of Friendship. Her fun emblem is the John Deere tractor; honored station, all officers; scripture is Proverbs 19:20, "Get all the advice you can and be wise the rest of your life." Her colors are green and yellow with wheat and tulips for flowers.

She said she had a fun year planned with a theme for each meeting. A project she is planning is helping with the new pool in Big Sandy. She had scarves and badges for the officers, required to be worn at each meeting or fines would be charged and go to the pool fund.

WM Tammie introduced her mother, Roberta; aunt and godmother, Marilyn Swane and good friend Edna Bitz, all of Big Sandy. WP Earl introduced his wife Maureen and said he was excited about having WM Tammie as a first-time WM. The meeting was closed in due form and everyone enjoyed ice cream sundaes in the dining room.
