April 19, 2023
Pamela Jane Nimmick, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023, surrounded by family and friends at Northern Montana Hospital.
Pam was born on April 26, 1950, in Missoula, Montana, the first of three children, to James and Mary (Wright) Omlie. When she was seven, the family moved to Havre, where she attended school, graduating from Havre High School in 1968. Pam remained in Havre, obtaining her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Northern Montana College in 1970, starting her Nursing career at Northern Montana Hospital that same year. For the next 45 years she served in many different roles at NMH, retiring from the Emergency Department in 2015.
Pam met the love of her life, Gary Nimmick in 1969 in Havre. On July 10, 1971, Pam married Gary at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and the couple made their home in Havre, MT. The couple celebrated their second anniversary welcoming their first child Tiffany Elizabeth. In 1978, their second child, Joshua James Fredrick became their first miracle baby, arriving two months early. Their family was completed in 1985 with the birth of their youngest Trevor Gary.
In November of 1996, her first grandchild, Taylor Elizabeth, was born. Taylor and Pam formed a special bond only a grandmother and granddaughter could share. Pam never missed a recital, performance, practice or game. The two even took a special trip to New York where they attended several Broadway Shows, visited the American Girl Store, and shopped for back to school clothes.
In 2014 Trevor married, and Pam gained two grandchildren, Kori Ann and Maximus Joseph. One year later Pam's third granddaughter, Devi Jane, was born. In 2017 the last of her grandchildren, twins, Sawyer Elizabeth and Tyson Gary, arrived. Pam's family was not complete yet, in 2019 her first and only great grandchild, Jersey Elizabeth, was born.
Family has always been the most important thing to Pam, and for hers she was the glue. Holiday's were always celebrated at her house, where all her family would gather. She doted endlessly on her children and grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and always advocating for their success.
Besides spending time with family, Pam enjoyed documenting their memories and achievements with scrapbooking. She also collected Barbie memorabilia, traveled, listening to music, camping, and watching the Hallmark channel. Pam was a supporter of the Havre Girls Fast-Pitch Association, Havre Wrestling Club, Hi-Line Nurses Association, and Beta.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Clara Omlie; her maternal grandparents, George and Gladys Wright; parents, James and Mary Omlie; brother Jimmy Omlie; her mother- and father-in-law, Fred and Esther Nimmick; her brother-in-law, Darren Nimmick; sister-in-law, Deedie Nimmick; and nephews, Tyson James Nimmick and Chad Nimmick.
