Service for Betty Lou Morris

A Burial Service for Betty Lou Irene Lawrence Morris will be held Saturday, July 29, at 1:00 pm at the Big Sandy Cemetery. A lunch will be held after the burial at Christ Lutheran Church. The video from Betty’s Celebration of Life which was held on May 27 in Rosalia, Washington, will be shown during the lunch. Betty’s family would enjoy visiting with any old friends who knew her.

Betty moved to Big Sandy in 1947 when her parents, Lou and Doris Lawrence, purchased the Big Sandy Mountaineer. She graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1949. After marrying Ken Morris in 1953, she followed him and his construction jobs and worked in several large composing rooms running the linotype that her father had trained her to do when she was 12 years old.

After Ken’s passing in 2004, Betty moved to Rosalia, Washington, a quiet little town on the Palouse in eastern Washington, to be close to her daughter, Tanya and David Charles, and her granddaughter, Rayna Charles. Betty is also survived by her son, Larry and Debbie Morris, granddaughter Amanda Morris, grandson, Daniel and Amanda Morris, great-grandsons Byron and Vincent Morris, grandson Chris and Jenna Morris, great-grandsons Jeran and Brody Morris, all of the Madison, Wisconsin area.
