The Big Sandy Mountaineer -

The Lady Pioneer volleyball team traveled to Cascade for tournament action this past weekend. They had a great day on Friday coming away with several wins. They faced seven teams playing each one once. The team to reach 25 first won. The Pioneers beat CJI 25-24, Power Dutton Brady 25-23, Simms 25-15, Cascade 25-15, and Augusta 25-21. They had losses against DGS 21-25, GFCC 21-25. Big Sandy Pioneers placed 3rd going into bracket play on Saturday.

On Saturday they beat Cascade in three, but lost to CJI in a super intense match in three. They also lost to Simms in three. Coach said, “it’s definitely not the way we wanted to finish the tournament, but we did a lot of good things over the last 2 days. The girls are hungry and ready to go to work this season!”
