Old Business New Owners Chris O'Dell and Stephanie Therow

October 11, 2023

New Owners of the Diamon for You club and Casino, Chris O'Dell and Stephanie Therow, sat down with me and talked about how excited they were to be the new owners. Although they will be changing the name back to The Club.

Both are from Nebraska originally. Chris owned a bar in Nebraska and was looking to buy another one here. Chris is also the Big Sandy Hospital Facility Manager.

They will be looking at some changes, but what and when is still up in the air. There is the feasibility of making a nice patio area, but that would be in the future. They are expanding the inventory by the week.

"For the most part, they want to make it a fun place for people to go and have a good time and not worry about their daily grind. Just come here and just relax. They are looking at bands, open mic every once in a while, karaoke, maybe even a trivia night. They are just looking at all the different possibilities that they could do.

They are committed to living in this area. "We buy a house in town. In a small community, it seems everybody's got everybody else's best interests in mind. Just in the last few months, we've noticed that if there's a tragedy everybody came together in a blink of an eye, yeah, and they all supported each other when it came down to it. And that's really what we want."

"It's a great place to raise the little man." Their youngest son is two years old and Chris's oldest son, Holden O'Dell works at the Grocery Store. He loves working there and that will be his main focus.

They will be open seven days a week, even on holidays. Weekdays will be 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. and weekends 1:00-2:00. They want people who have nowhere to go for the holidays to come and spend it with them. "We love to be holidays. In the bar in Nebraska, we did Thanksgiving. My family would do a Thanksgiving dinner at the bar for a lot of the regulars who didn't have any place else to go. They can have dinner with us." They will also be open on Christmas Day.

"We are looking at the possibilities of how we can increase the food inventory. We don't have the capability of doing what the others do. We want to just have our little piece and we'd like to look at different stuff than the other two have." They know there are days both of the other two places to eat are closed and they would like to have something to offer.

"We aim to be very family-oriented. We're just excited for the future. What It all brings for us, for everybody. We absolutely want to thank everybody for the support that they've given us even through the whole process of waiting for everything to turn over. And the support that we look forward to."
