Thoughts with Zoe

God's creation inspires me, but the creativeness of humans also inspires me.

I am reminded that I am made in His image, and I believe, to my core, that if we aren't doing something creative, we aren't satisfied with life; there's something missing. Genesis 1:27 SO GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGINE.

I'm not talking about just creating art, sculpture, or painting with oils or watercolor. I'm not talking about what we would see in art. You can be an artist by making an engine purr. You can be an artist when you work outside in your yard and make it an immaculate garden, creating a garden of peace and tranquility. You can be an artist when you're cooking for your family. You're just not throwing things together, but you want to make the food taste right. You want the plate to be visually accepted. You can be an artist as you decorate your home. You can be an artist because you're writing poems. If you sing, create verse, and create chords, you are creative. You can be an artist doing any work; if you find yourself as a janitor, dishwasher, or standing in an assembly line, you can find ways to make those events more successful and effective. You are being creative.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.

It is simply because God is a creative God, and we are made in His image. So, every day, we need to look at creativity as a way to express ourselves, a way to express God's love for others, a way to express how we want to live, a way to express our satisfaction with life, a way to express our successes, and a way to express to others how they can be successful. Creativity is extremely important.

I recently found myself in a museum of art, where I saw a Picasso. Some would say that's not art, and I laughed because it is. I saw blown glass, stunning blown glass, and yet I can see children's art and be blown away by its beauty as well.

I laugh at my attempts at drawing. My very first attempt was with my three dogs. No one would think that was art, but the exciting outcome was that I could look at those pictures and immediately know which dog was which. I drew my shoes, and no one would think that was good, but it doesn't matter; it's not that you liked it. What is essential is that God likes my efforts in being creative; it makes him happy. It doesn't have to make you happy. It doesn't have to make anyone around you happy. It has to make Him happy. So He could say, "Well done. You bring glory to my name."

I fully expect the Lord to bless with me ideas to express His creativity. I'm looking forward to feeling inspired by Him and celebrate His Prescence within me.
