In the summer of 2022, 16 youth group students from St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church traveled to Mexico City on a pilgrimage to see the holy image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Just a few months later at the beginning of the school year, the youth group had a massive increase going from a student roster of 8 kids to an attendance of 19-22 students, despite losing 3 graduating seniors. The initial pilgrimage had been very successful in reinforcing themes learned in class. Thus, began conversations on possibly traveling specifically to Rome and Vatican City.
