The future of the Mountaineer

I hope that someone will continue the paper, but the chances are slim. You can do it no matter what your ability. There's a former editor in town who will help, and I will also, but it needs to be someone who believes in the purpose of the Mountaineer and its importance to Big Sandy. Please step up. Yes, I did initially say the last month would be June, but I had forgotten about Homecoming at the time, so I will now retire in September. My goal for the Mountaineer was five years, and it's been five. I have thoroughly enjoyed the adventure, and I would like to thank you all for your continued support.

You don't need to have a building, just a place for a computer.

The building is for sale or rent. You don't necessarily need a building. I would rent it for a while if it doesn't sell quickly. There are rooms available for rent now, as well as storage areas for rent.

The paper could be just an internet paper, but many don't want that either. If it doesn't survive, so much connectivity will be lost! And I'm sorry, but I will be 73 shortly, and I want to do other things. So I will not feel guilty if the paper dies. It's over 100 years old! How about a committee? How about several people working together to form a co-op! It's up to you.
