Last Friday night a number of neighbors surprised little Alvin Swanson on the occasion of his ninth birthday. Wornfred Eliasson furnished fine music on his accordion, and cards and dancing were indulged in by those who wished. A bountiful supper was served at 10:30 and a very delicious birthday cake with nine candles graced the center of the table. The guests departed about midnight wishing Alvin many happy returns of the day.
