Life around Big Sandy in late September of 1926 was filled with the ordinary comings and goings of a busy rural community, teachers arriving for the school year, threshing crews at work, new purchases in town, and news traveling between families near and far.
Mrs. T. H. Hill was in Big Sandy Saturday afternoon and brought two teachers with her. Miss Fagan was preparing to teach at the Parker School, while Miss Bolinger was teaching at the Larson School.
